That last image is breath-taking Grebels! I even love the texture.

This is the best piece I managed with the oil pastels. It was a fun experience, but I am going back to soft pastels, mainly because the oil sticks are a little hard for me to slide well, the pastel cubes have edges that help me shape and my wrists are pretty shot due to carpel tunnel. I did not enjoy the oils as much as the soft, but I am glad I tried them out.

An icon commission I just finished. Sorry about the watermark, but it helps prevent theft.

^ Like the tiger!

Portrait of a Zaurian, one of the races I plan to feature in a fantasy novel I've outlined. His look was inspired by Papuan and Melanesian peoples, but his race is shorter in stature like Negritos. They coexist with dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals in a tropical jungle continent.

^ Thanks, Tigress. Now here's something you in particular might enjoy:

Image

It's a fictional panther species that combines aspects of lions, leopards, and tigers. It looks like a leopard but has a leonine social structure and tiger-like size and proportions. It appears in the first chapter of one of my stories.

Practice with bird wings, since I'm still having trouble with shading and a few details:

This little comic is to be read clockwise (that is, starting with the upper left and ending with the bottom right panel).

When I first embarked on this comic, I simply wanted to draw a prehistoric or fantasy food chain, but then it somehow evolved into a commentary on the capitalist (or other authoritarian) exploitation of Third World peoples.

The dinosaurs depicted in the first two panels are Iguanodon and Deinonychus.

BrandomSP, your drawings are awesome! I'll never be able to draw humans and dinosaurs as well as you do.

You draw birds and dragons well, so non-avian dinosaurs shouldn't be much harder for you.
