Classic, and one that supposedly inspired High Contrast a lot in his early days:

For me J-magik is the best DnB producer. My favorite tune is "Your Sound" (Innervisions)
Every week producers like Photek and Source Direct blew my mind but this guy's beats are minimal bliss.

That reminds me as well how much MixMag posts of dnb that aren't marked end up getting a lot of bellyaching from people who were looking for trance, techno or house and get unpleasantly surprised. A slightly different side to that was when Sabre and Stray (Ivy Lab) had an LDN 20/20 night where they were playing halftime (great set) and they have a female dj named Huxley Ann who opened for them - she did a good job with the tracks and evading anything they'd play but it was the same story, 'why didn't you tell us it wasn't trance or house?'.

I get the impression with most clubbers its the same way, the groups and tastes are a bit too different. Dnb seems like something where you either fall in the camp or loving it or hating it and if you're indifferent you'll be really indifferent.

Your Sound is gorgeous, so is Repertoir and Needlepoint Magic. I really love Matrix's older stuff as well for what you're describing, he made it DEEP.

Taking a listen right now (while I'm programming) - I like. They seem to have a similar mentality to Skanna, sort of an early on Promised Land type sound. In some other ways they also sort of capture a similar jazziness to Hidden Agenda, surprised they never collaborated.

One of the piano tunes in there had some consonance with this:

I toured with H.A. In 97.
This is deviating, but if you have an ear for lo-fi tell me what you make of this guy?

Some half-time back to my side of the fence:

It doesn't sound bad. As far as it's hitting my hears the mixing, eq'ing, and sound balance/selection is pretty thoughtful. I'm not particularly experienced in the genre but I can tell he's making it work at least.

I've been keeping a list of everything I posted so far in this thread to try not to repeat but yeah, The Rain still gets me every time at 1:12. This one's solid too
