Peter Bagges 'Buddy Bradley collections.

Jaime Hernandez 'Locas' collections.

Gilbert Hernandez 'Palomar' collections.

Pretty much 70% of Fantagraphics output is good, likewise Drawn and Quaterly put out some great stuff.

Vertigo's new 'noir' themed 'vertigo crime' imprint has put out a couple of doozies if you like noir.

Bryan Talbot is always a satisfying creator and his steampunk asthetic is just brilliant.

Go forth and explore but damn those men in tights, manga and fantasy cliches to hell.

peace j

bumping this after a while, why not =P.

I had done a ton of traveling, then started a new job so never got around to reading much. And the traveling was actually also semi-work related so didnt have much free time then either. Had my laptop with me that i had loaded a ton on but didnt get through much other than Transmetropolitan and finishing up the last issue of Neonomicon. Neo was a little disappointing in that i was really hoping for it would be longer than just the 4 issues, it seemed to have good legs. I hope he goes back and does more.

Transmetropolitan was absolutely amazing.

Now that I'm situated and settled in at new job got some more free time, looks like some new and good recommendations since last checking a half year ago! I'm gonna start Fable I guess, will have to check out that FreakAngels too cause ya, trans made me an instant fan of Ellis.

It's been a while since I've read any comics/graphic novels, but one I really liked was The Preacher by Garth Ennis, I believe. It had some pretty dark and twisted things going on.
