Yeah that is exactly the kind of music I like.....and since when does one have to use hard drugs to listen to that kind of music? I swear the things people base their assumptions on. It sucks you don't know anyone who enjoys that sort of music, what do they listen to?

So you're saying you're into stuff like darkpsy, dark dnb, hardcore techno, metal, etc...? Or just dark music in general?

I am into metal, and I am into some electronic/techo type stuff, but I really don't know the genres but stuff kinda like the band Psyclon Nine. I also on occasion listen to goth rock and related genres as well as massive amounts of psychedelic rock some of which I find to be rather dark.

Not quite sure what the other genres you listed are so I'm not sure I like them or not.

It's either metal or dance music here, not really into industrial itself but more into the genres that are influenced by it, I can't tolerate vocals well in music, they don't have to stand out or be original because then they end up sounding cheesy to me. Sepultura-style screams are what I tolerate the best in metal. I'm picky in that.

Might I recommend:

Celldweller
Blue Stahli
Voicians
Crossbreed
Kem Secksdiin
Combichrist
KMFDM
MDFMK
Dope
Kidneythieves
Pzychobitch
Psyclon nine
Angelspit
SAM
Lords of Acid
X-Fusion
Voxis
Argyle Park
Circle of Dust
Angeldust
Marilyn Manson
Scum of the Earth
Rob Zombie
White Zombie

A lot of that is about as dark, heavy and aggressive as you can get without devolving into the a-melodic wall-of-noise crap.

One of my old roommates would play Karl Sanders. I always kind of thought he sounded pretty cool!

This may be up your alley, may well not be but oyaarss is my favourite artist to retreat to when I want dark and heavy music. Hard to find a comprehensive source for everything he's made, it's very scattered and lots of unofficial stuff, but if you enjoy one song I can only say it's worth tracking down everything else.

Yeah, I really DO like that, sounds really heavy.

AnnettaMarie's clip was also good.

A good snarler from Tech Itch from back around 2000 that I almost forgot about:

Except it's the same boring riff over and over and over again for almost six minutes. Yawn...

This, however doesn't get boring.

And neither does this.

So you like monotonous music? Eh, whatever. I ain't gonna argue. To each his own. I personally found that track to get pretty boring after the first minute. That's just my opinion, though.

Haven't listened to the recommendations at all, but I think I like monotonous music.

The trancey synths in the first and the vocals in the second one were the dealbreaker for me, but you're right about the monotonous part. Personally I like variety too, but when music has way too many melodies, it becomes cheesy to me, makes me think it's opera. That's my weird view on it, can't help it.

Meh, I'm back for more. I can see I may end up post-whoring this thread rather firmly.
