I absolutely cannot stand generic 80s hair metal like Poison. It's like the only genre I can't appreciate at least on an intellectual level.

Genres that I find excruciatingly annoying:

Smooth Jazz
Hi NRG Techno
Happy Hardcore
Commercial Country
Commercial Rock and Pop
Emo
The S*** that has passed itself off as R&B for the past 30 years
Boy Bands and other Pre-Fab bands

The early hair bands like Motley Crue, W.A.S.P, Ratt and Quiet Riot were fun to begin with, then after that it became a joke and was notoriously disposed of by grunge.

I adore Irish folk music but have an aversion to country music, despite their shared lineage. I think I just associate country with rednecks.
I have no idea how anyone can like dubstep. There's no pattern. It's cacophonous. It makes me feel like I'm having a seizure.
And yes, modern R&B, if by that you mean the overplayed-in-the-drugstore babymaking squishy crap from the 90s.

I think any genre can sound good if its done well but if I had to pick one it would be sound art (using everyday sounds instead of musical instruments).

Real dubstep has more patterns then most music. If you want a genre that's pure cacophony look at Power Electronics.

I've said it once but I'll say it again...

I wear shutter shades and have a guy that screams with me when I'm not rappin'. Yo, yo, I drink Bacardi a night where I'm not drunk that'll never happen.

So yeah, I got no license. I drive my mama's car and head on to the bar.

All I want is some homies and hoes. Cuz I got no life and look like I'm 16 years old!"

Yep, that's all CrunkCore is

I thought about it and figured out that I universally hate no particular genre of music. Besides, life's too short to waste my time and energy on hate.

That Puerto Rican reggaeton stuff. Absolutely awful. No idea why they had to associate it with reggae music which can be quite awesome.

Yes. I think what all this has in common is that they are boring and formulaic. Not sure if you'll find anything groundbreaking amongst this stuff. They seem to water down other musics.

First, there is no such genre as "Neo Nazi White Power Music". What genre sounds the worst to you? Second, even if Brazil has diverse cultural origins it still sounds terrible, abd as far as I can tell it'syrics tend to be even more superficial and meaningless than american pop. The best Brazilian music is the tribal stuff and the Brazilian metal IMO.

So you are trying to be far away from the mainstream as possible?

From what little I've heard of it, bossa nova doesn't sound half bad to me (in part because I find the Portuguese language is very easy on the ear).

I know it's off-topic, but could you give some examples of your favourites (genres or artists/songs) from Brazil, Convivencia?
