I don't understand the existence of dodecaphonism.

This.

I don't think it's a weird kind of music, but this music annoys me too. Heavy Metal gives me headaches and stress. I can't say that to Heavy Metal fans because they get angry, they think it's my problem, that I can't appreciate the "best kind of music of this world", bleh...

Yeah. I mean, some of the things I like might fall under it, but I do dislike 'ironic' music and trends.

I don't understand why hipsters use the word "ironic" constantly :? Why are they ironic?

Because it's uncool to be into something seriously, or for an artist to express themselves in a straightforward way. It's only intellectual if you're "ironic".

Prog rock - Not all of it, of course, but some can be very odd. I do tend to like it.

Tibetan Throat Singing...but that's just a culture gap. I'm sure it sounds wonderful to Tibetan people.

Mummy of Peanut - I'm not an expert on prog-rock by any means, but if I'm not wrong, part of the appeal of prog is in its weirdness. It challenges common song structures and lyrical themes.

Yes, I agree. It's peculiar but that's what's great about it. Some of it is pretty mainstream, however, and probably wouldn't be considered odd.

I think The Residents take the cake. It doesn't fall under any genre other than weird. It isn't just the "music" either. They are also visual artists and every "song" has an ultra-bizarro mind-raping video to go along with it.

I don't think I even fully understand what "ironic" means.

The proper term for such "weird" music is avant-garde or experimental music.

Those screaming metal 'artists' with black eyeliner and 'death' written on their shirts thinking it's so cool. Not really a genre though.

It's called Black Metal (assuming that's what you are referring to) and it is very much a genre.

Fair enough, but it's outsider music and is still going strong after 4 and a half decades.
