I love blaring various obscure fusion metal out my windows. It keeps the chavs away and also draws other metal fans to my location.

Here's some of my favourite bands and my favourite song of each band (these are links to YouTube vids btw and also, some of them are a bit wierd): -
Joe Satriani - Chords of Life
Meshuggah - Bleed
Opeth - Porcelain Heart
Lamb of God - Liad to Rest
Sonic Syndicate - Denied
Bring Me The Horizon - Pray For Plagues
As Blood Runs Black - My Fears Have Become Phobias
The Berzerker - All About You
Children of Bodom - Needled 24/7
DevilDriver - Hold Back the Day
Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond the Sun
Steve Vai - I Know You're Here
John Pettruci - Glasgow Kiss
Scar Symmetry - The Illusionist
Mors Principium Est - The Unborn

I liked it too, but it seems to me as if Lars is still hitting his snare like he did on "St. Anger".

Hell yeah! I love mostly speed-thrash metal. I like bands like testament, anthrax, megadeth, metallica(old), slayer, pantera, exodus, venom, and others. I don't feel that metal these days has the same power behind it as it used to. Bands like limp biskit, lincoln park, POD, and trivium don't have the same raw, brutal ebergy that metal used to have IMO. However, in recent years hardcore has become popular and bands like dillinger escape and norma jean are VERY heavy and brutal.

a couple of "heavy and brutal" active American bands for you: Origin, Pig Destroyer and Leng Tch'e
there are allot but those are some good ones

and yes quite obviously i like metal

Kiss metal?! They come across more as a parody on metal, like comedy hardrock or so. At most glamrock. I cannot imagine many die hard metal fans would take Kiss seriously...

I'm for relaxing the rules on what fits in what category...clearly Tool rocks, and I don't care if people call them metal or not.
I like most of what's been mentioned...props to Siralex for mentioning Carcass, I have "Rot'n'roll" stuck in my head right now and I might have to play it.
The only metal I can't get into is some of the stuff that gets a lot of radio play...can't name names but I avoid the radio.
