Yes, former lead singer Rob Halford announced that he was gay some years back. Maybe being gay and strutting around in studded leather are not mutually exclusive…

Halford had the best performance in rock; posture, strut, vocal range/expressionism, whips, bikes - no one came close.

- however, the prize for gratuitious machismo surely has to go to Manowar.

The way to go:
Necrophagist, Decrepit Birth, Gorguts, Spastic Ink, Origin, Blotted Science, B... TA!, Indricothere, Illogicist, Nile, Meshuggah, Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Aborted, Viraemia... These are what I would call metal.

Saying Bon Jovi isn't metal isn't saying they're bad though.

More like rock/hard rock.

But....

BTW, Burzum sucks. Varg Vikernes' only reason for anything closely resembling fame is that he killed Euronymous, was one of the subjects of Michael Moynihan's 'Lords of Chaos, and is now in Jail where he releases crap keyboard music and is now a Neo- Nazi.
