ah. . the rolling eyes was me having a laugh at the dash rather than the semi colon. People roll their eyes at me when I say something funny. Why, what do the 'rolling eyes' mean to you?

Oh, sorry. Usually the rolling eyes are an expression of dismay, exasperation, annoyance, being fed up etc.

I thought that to start with but apparently a lot of people on here do 'get' the emoticons (or so I read on a thread on here a while ago), even if they don't 'get' normal facial expressions. I very often find I need to use smileys to make sure my post is not misconstrued as being of the wrong emotion etc.

(For example, I used a smiley face there to try to show that I am not annoyed/unhappy etc. or trying to tell you what to do/think etc. Maybe that's odd. I just feel the need to do it

wow, I am going to have to start wondering if what I say is 'funny' or just people be exasperated and annoyed.
