Indian classical mostly.

That is fantastic stuff, though I don't "listen" to it per se... rather I just sit back and absorb it.

Bach! :D :D

As an organist, I have a liking not just for JSB but:
(a) composers leading to and influencing Bach, such as Buxtehude,
(b) contemporaries such as his cousin, JG Walther,
(c) pupils, such as the Krebs family
(d) Bach survivalists eg Josef Seger

I love classical music, and have since I was a kid. I particularly enjoy symphonies.

My favorite composers: Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Tchaikovsky.

Favorite operatic composers: Mozart, Verdi, Rossini

Favorite operas: Can't answer that; it's an oxymoron.

I love classical music. It really chills me out. I am not too keen on the more 'modern' stuff though because it can be quite disjointed and strange. I do like the movie soundtracks that are often played on Classic FM. Modern composers don't get enough recognision these days.

I love "classical" but I'm not always in the mood for it.

I like all the Bachs, Beethoven, Berlioz, Brahms, Dvorak, Grieg, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Schumann, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and Wagner.

(I am also a tremendous fan of the scores from movies.)

Yes I love classical music. I listen to music very rarely but when I do I then prefer classical music.
But I dont know anything about names of composers. So when Im into it I use to dig YouTube to find classical music

I would like to learn more about though

I like the best an big orchestra with a piano as the solist and main instrument....
I would like to see people of this thread to bring on music examples of what you here only give names

I love this one

and I also love "An der schönen blauen Donau"

I cant play piano but once I made huge effort learning how to play that song on a keyboard I once got from another aspie

I've loved classical music since I could turn the dial on the radio (when I was 4 or 5 I got my own radio alarm-clock... my mom tuned it to the oldies station she listens to, and I promptly figured out how to tune it and discovered classical music. 15 years later I'm still listening to it and loving it.) I play piano and viola in an orchestra. Classical music is awesome.

My favorite composers (yes, this is soooooo stereotypical) are Mozart and Beethoven. Mozart because everything he wrote sounds both extremely simple and extremely complex all at the same time and has tons of patterns in it. Beethoven because his music is all so deliberate, pattern oriented, but also kind of bipolar and really fun to play.

I prefer pieces in the classical style, rather than impressionistic stuff (like some of what Debussy wrote... too much "emotion" into playing the notes. I don't like playing music I have to "interpret" emotionally... <sarcasm>hmmmmm I wonder why. </sarcasm>)

One of my absolute favorite pieces, though is Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. I've played it with my orchestra and it still sends shivers down my spine. It's so powerful and beautiful and amazing.

I listen to Pierre Hantai and the group Hesperion XXI. They play Scarlatti, Marin Marais, Couperin, Bach, and lots of others.
