I have been wanting to work on foliage for a bit now, so I stopped being lazy and started working on foliage today. This piece is a branch with Oak Leaf from the Hydrangea variety.

Sometimes I feel like drawing and painting are the only refuge left in the world. That everything is so chaotic, so immense, so incomprehensible that my words do nothing but make people mad. My thoughts are meaningless. It is not the art pieces themselves that I can hide in, but in the process itself. While I draw I am alone in a place where everything is still and logical.

...and yet still very well done! You can tell an amateur (like me) a mile away with body parts in wrong places/proportions - this is well done and perfectly in style. Excellent!

I'm fascinated with the sculptural detail of antique car radiator ornaments.

In the 26th century, mankind faces an epic struggle for survival. The forces of nature have spun wildly out of control. Mighty cities have crumbled and the dinosaurs have returned to reclaim the Earth. In this savage land one man stands alone: Jack Tenrac. Defending humanity from a world gone mad, a world where only the strong survive, a world of Cadillacs and dinosaurs...
---Cadillacs and Dinosaurs intro

Based on the comic book series Xenozoic Tales, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs was an animated TV series that aired between 1993 and 1994. Unfortunately it didn't last very long before being canceled, but despite its implausible premise, I remember it as one of the best cartoon series of its whole decade. The show's dinosaurs looked far better than their counterparts in almost all the other 90's cartoons.

This is more of a fan's redesign than a completely faithful reproduction of the cartoon's protagonist, although I've changed his outfit relatively little. The original Jack Tenrac was more or less the standard White Male Hero, but being a fan of ethnic diversity I decided to make my rendition Native American. I might draw an African-American Hannah Dundee and a lightly feathered Hermes the pet Allosaurus later.

Hannah Dundee, another character from Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

In the original show, Hannah Dundee was pretty much your standard White Female Love Interest, but I decided to go the unorthodox and multicultural route by drawing her as African-American and her boyfriend Jack Tenrac as Native American. Coming up next is a partially feathered Hermes the Allosaurus!

After redesigning Cadillacs and Dinosaurs's two leading characters Jack Tenrac and Hannah Dundee, I thought it only fair to give Hermes, their tame Allosaurus, a makeover as well. My version now has protofeathers in keeping with the increasingly popular hypothesis (supported by Sciurumimus) that protofeathers were basal to tetanuran theropod dinosaurs.

As far as birds go I have always liked crows and I have been wanting to make a scenery type piece. So a crow, branches . . . eerie background. Good enough for me!

I know my last couple of pieces have not been super, but it was what came from inside.

Anyways I started playing the first Two Worlds game and I really liked it so I made a rendition of the main character's sister, Kira with the game logo.

i have nothing new to post because my computer is new and so is my keyboard. i lost my suite of programs i used to develop animations when my computer died last year, and i have not been sufficiently interested to develop new things considering the lackluster appraisal i got for things i did in the recent past.

i have been remonstrated before by people who not consider these animations to be "artwork", and i guess they think i press a button on some sort of automated graphics program, but i designed this from scratch and i iterated the visual component in a program i wrote to do it. i also played on my synthesizer what i thought was a good simple song to accompany the video. i have posted this before and got no response whatsoever, and after i questioned why no one saw fit to comment i got a comment that it was just the same old sh!t i always post, and because my hands were not involved in the visual aspect, it was void.

this is a pattern my brain thought of and i guess that once again it will be ignored as trash with the idea that i have used a third party simple program to generate the result, but i defy anyone to find another copy of this video anywhere in the world.

it took a lot of work for me to write the iteration routines for this fractal, and it is surprising to me that no one has ever commented on the detail that remains crisp after even a 10,000x magnification of the original pattern at the end of the clip.

the world is a hard place to strut one's stuff because everyone is very egotistical when it comes to their appraisal of art that is not renowned.
whatever. i will just post it again and any insults will affect me as much as a fly landing on me.

the best animation i have written is this one, but it has a very simple audio track which i never got around to developing. if anyone is interested, then choose 720p to watch it in other wise it is blurry.
