Gershwin - “Rhapsody in Blue”

My first time listening to Bernstein’s interpretation.

Alessandro Marcello - Oboe Concerto in D Minor - Adagio

As an oboist I know this piece all too well and know that it is cliche, but this recording is incredibly beautiful. I have certainly been influenced by it.

I love the Baroque era! Here's another piece, from an opera. Very pretty, I'm not big on opera aside from the Baroque era.
John Blow - Venus & Adonis, Act III: "With Solemn Pomp Let Mourning Cupids Bear." (Venus)

A bit on the dry side - exploring the insane genius of Bach.
Bach makes me very happy. 8)

@TwilightPrincess: Aw thanks! I'm glad to hear! The oboe is such a gorgeous instrument. I couldn't resist playing it!

@Cornflake: It's not dry to me, at all! But I am a music history nerd! I had forgot that Bach put puzzles like that in his music. It's been years since I took music history but I'm vaguely recalling those kinds of puzzles in music, but thought they were earlier than Bach. Interesting.

Anyway, speaking of Bach and oboe:

Bach wrote a lot of oboe (and oboe family) parts in his cantatas. This is one of my top favorites!
