Just for kicks, I'm going to put both my drawings together below:

I wonder if someone could make a "dialoglog" for this? Here's mine(censoring of certain words):

T3R3Z1:N1C3 OUTF1T, D4V3!
dave:nice one too terezi
T3R3Z1:1T SM3LLS L1K3...CH3RRY!
dave:your outfit is really f**king awesome
dave:i mean s**t terezi this is cool
T3R3Z1:1 KNOW!
dave:so, want to dance like the badass motherf**kers we are?
T3R3Z1:H3LL F**K1NG Y3S.

Is this the worst "dialoglog" to be paired with the art?

I've hidden away my art for my whole life but thanks to WP, I've decided to pursue it a bit more seriously and show some of it. You can check it out at Deviant Art. Here's one I did the other day that came out nicely.

I have that on my MP3 player tho I have not heard it in ages . . . to be frank I have been on a rather dark mood as of late, and I think this is where the alchemist sprung out of.

^and I don't have really much skills, seeing how fan art doesn't really take as many as other art types(or maybe it depends, I don't know...)

A character some one I know came up with. He's wearing a carbon-fiber trench coat, kevlar mask, kevlar boots, and a kevlar vest, as well as a fedora and pants. He has also(besides the two sawed off shotguns, which he has four more of hidden under his coat) a hunting rifle and crowbar. How does he carry all this crap? A lot of muscles and a height of 6 feet and four inches.
Also, he's basically like your typical Grand Theft Auto main character, but more brutal, has caused more deaths, has better skills, and is generally more scary, which is probably saying something.

He's also a bit of a Mary Sue to me, but the creator denies it.

not necessarily true fan art can be complex or simple, meaningful, fun, innovative, etc. It all depends on the degree of skill of the artist their dedication and how they approach the subject matter.

Example here is one of my fan-art pieces:

[img][800:702]http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/316/7/9/79ee6c4b87d0157b3e04d232e74458ea-d5krvpj.jpg[/img]

Here is one that is NOT fan art:

Image

They both have an identifiable style that is my own (i used similar techniques on both pieces) they are distinct in the subject and not easier or harder than one another.

On a different note: Today I wanted to explore how my style has changed and improved (or worsened) so I piked one of my old pieces to re-do. Titangeek had asked me to draw an orchid and I did it is this one:

[img][800:768]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/247/1/0/1096afcd508c938a2df225ba6c05eb91-d5dmiks.jpg[/img]

Here is my re-take of a yellow-Orchid. Actually chose a genus in specific, rather than making my own hybrid painting of orchids.

[img][800:768]http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/329/5/f/yellow_orchid2_by_tempertempest-d5m5iat.jpg[/img]

Same medium for both pieces (bamboo tablet in artrage studio, Oil brushes)

Edit: My third orchid attempt. I realized that the boldness of the oils was making my flowers look . . .thick, for lack of a better word. So I gave watercolors a shot. They are hard for me to maneuver (bamboo program or not) but I think the piece has the effect I desired. Elegant, subtle and soft yet detailed and bold.

Here's a voice I did of the Homestuck Character Tavros. Since I'm lazy, I just took a normal image of the character and used it for the image. I hope you won't be too critical:

Well... I've water colored a few things here and there, but nothing I'm particularly proud of.

How hard is it to do watercolors? have yet to try them tho I have done a bit of acrylic...

It's actually a lot easier than painting with acrylics, because you can layer the different colors you use to your liking without completely blotting out the color underneath. (Useful when shading, I may add.)

The downside is that it's really difficult to get a texture out of it. Also, if you use too much water, the color will fade out or barely show up.
