In response to what others have pointed out, the uncanny valley feeling might simply be down to her eyebrow not being in line with her brow bone, as well as her right eye (our left) being slightly higher than the other. Perhaps try tweaking the positions of things a bit? You're definitely on the right track, though!

I probably shouldn't of said 'getting a lot closer to being finished' when it's really not lol. I think I was just so happy with how the hair was going it was making me see the end too soon. Things like the eyebrow/eye and stuff aren't anywhere near finished so there's a lot of tweaking to be done still. Do a bit at a time and change to another area. Once my friend emails me, I'll see if she minds me showing the reference picture. Sadly I don't feel like drawing this at the moment so no idea when I'll get the finished result up.

Wanted to put my facial cartoonish practice into use and drew this on the morning of the 25th, before we started cooking Christmas dinner (the fact that we do not celebrate aside (we had a nice yule party)). I used gimp after I scanned it because I am getting kind of tired of the glare and the poor darkening the images have been getting until I managed to darken the image while maintaining the integrity of the work. I think the image is clearer and easier to see.

I used a #2 pencil, a 4B and a 6B graphite pencil for this, no pen.

Will definitely work on this concept again, and try to get better dimensions on her face.

I was bored in a waiting room and started sketching a random flower with generalized traits of different genus. The coloring started when I fixated on the idea of a fleshly red for the inside of the bulb. I had watercolor pencils so I used them. I think the end result was really neat. I used gimp on the scan to clean the image so it would not be faded and blurry and have the elegance it deserves.

I started the piece with a 4b graphite pencil, darkened with a 6b, colored with watercolor pencils and lined it with black ink pen at the end for body, so to speak. The foliage was an afterthought but ended up being my favorite part.
I made up the flower name, btw.

I was going to say, personally I think you could either lower the nose or enlarge and raise the mouth a little. It's otherwise pretty good though.

I Re-worked my demoness. Even gave her a name here it is. Thoughts, comments?

Sylph On The Breeze

I am actually quite pleased with this piece. This is my rendition of a Sylph, which is a sort of air elemental and a mythological creature. Got any preference as to how sylphs look like? Share!

I did this piece with a 2b graphite pencil then finished it with a wood-less charcoal pencil. Have not used charcoal in a while, but I looove the results in this portrait.

Edit: UGH my pic is rezied funny! to see it in the right proportions go here: devianart

Angela

I love the night of demons movie series and fell in love with the remake of the first film at once when I saw the make-up for Angela. My other pieces of Demoness where sort of practice for this piece, which I plan on re-doing until I get better quality, but I think it was good for the attempt, plus is a cartoonish rendition not still-life. If you scroll down this site: Link you can see a shot of Angela's re-make.
