Jonathan Richman is one of my favorite musicians, period. I've seen him numerous times live. I was fortunate enough to bring my wife to a small show with Jonathan and Tommy Larkins. My wife really wasn't into Jonathan before the show, but he charmed her and the rest of us as only Jonathan can and she was hooked after that ever since.
Please watch the whole video because at the end, Jello Biafra compliments Jonathan's music and takes a dig at the interviewer/show at the same time.
It's a very mellow piece of music.
Here's a new favourite of mine - 'Shamus' by Van Phillips. Played on Ulster Television from Northern Ireland in the 1960s. It sounds compassionate but the era wasn't I'm told.
I never realized the similarity in sound to the beginning guitar intro in this song with Tom Verlaine's guitar sound in Television. Especially from :10-:26 seconds in.
Last song before bed.....

Such beautiful music.
This was one I bought with my money from working at the diner, when I was 14 maybe. Played this EP to death. I also love Extra Circus, which came out this past year.
