^ Very creative re-imagining of Bender as a steampunk machine! Are you a fan of the steampunk genre in general?

I sure am! I worked on some more Futurama SP designs as sketches and only three more as full designs. I'll color them in some day.

And now for a more historical piece:

Image
Sobekneferu of the Egyptian Middle Kingdom

Hatshepsut and Cleopatra VII were not Egypt’s only female rulers. At the end of the Middle Kingdom’s 12th dynasty, Sobekneferu took control of the throne after her predecessor and possible stepbrother Amenemhat IV died without a male heir. She apparently ruled for only four years though.

It feels like ages since I last used GIMP for coloring, but the main thing I wanted to practice here was choosing an appropriate shade of brown to render darker African skin (what I call the “ebony” or “obsidian” shade as opposed to the more moderate “cocoa” shade; think Alek Wek or Oluchi Onweagba). In the past I would choose a midtone that was technically darker than this, but it tended to obscure the line art unless I added highlights. I rather prefer how this alternative, somewhat grayer shade came out.

Some scholars, for example the late Egyptologist Frank Yurco, have suggested that the 12th dynasty as a whole originated in Nubia. One Egyptian prophecy dating from the period does say the dynasty’s founder came from Egypt’s southernmost nome, which was immediately downriver of Nubia, so I think this hypothesis has some merit.

No problem Spiderfan. Anarbacular I drew her as a favor with creative liscence in order to accommodate her to my own drawing stile. Sorry it was not to your liking. I will refrain from such projects in the future.

Cool!

Also, can you draw one of my characters, or draw an individual of one of my races?

Wild Rage

Pen and graphite. Got bored in a meeting and did this instead of taking notes. No one complained so. *shrug*

A fairly rare render I made: Lonely-Flower Isle. Makes me think of this music from Minecraft:

Forgive me if this sounds rude, but...

While I appreciate your interest in my art, I wish to refuse your request. None of your characters or races really appeal to me that much, but more importantly I find your aggressive begging attitude very off-putting. I'm sure you'll find another artist more interested in your ideas than I am though.

Sorry, it's just that I don't really have that much in the way of things. It's just that I am trying to find good artists and, well...

Pumpkin King

I wanted to see if I could draw him without art rage studio. Plus wanted to test my on the fly skills. It took me one scene of the movie to draw and ink. The part when he discovered Christmas town. Graphite and a black bic.

Looks good!

Hey, can you create a character using that character template I gave you and share it online, as well as draw the character out? I mean, if that's okay with you. At least, I hope it's okay with you.

Drathir (Goblin Edition)

This is a cartoon version of my lvl 21 Goblin warrior on WoW. Yes. I sold out. Eq2 is out now. I got a new pen for inking today and used it on this piece. It is a graphite/ink combo. The pen is a .5 Foray Rolle from Office Max. a four-pack is $10 but you can get them individually in various colors for $1.99. The graphite pencil was a wood-less 4b. This is also my first full-body picture. I actually think it came out well. I wish the shoes/feet had worked out better and that I had drawn the hand bigger ( wow goblins have big heads hands and feet in comparison to the rest of their body) but I already have plans to re-work it later and try for more uniformity. Practice will help I think.

Is that a gumball machine on the goblin's shoulder?

In that case you might want to draw some spikes on the mace's edge to better communicate that it's a weapon.
