Why am I absolutely positively obsessed with the guitar in this song? The guitar from start to finish? Why oh, why??? I like the lyrics, singing/harmonies, drums and bass too, but it's the guitar.

I love The Stone Roses and yes, this guitar is hypnotic ... like a waterfall?!

I adore this song! I spent three years trying to track it down using three notes ... lol
Happiness, hit her like a train on a track Coming toward her, stuck still no turning back She hid around corners and she hid under beds She killed it with kisses and from it she fled With every bubble she sank with a drink And washed it away down the kitchen sink

I love this song. Van was only 21 if I remember correctly. When you listen to the beginning, the "false start", he clearly already knew what he wanted the recording to sound like. Amazing at such a young age.
I used to have a friend who was a singer and musician. We kissed a few times on a few occasions, but it "did't take". We mutually decided we were better off as platonic friends. One evening I went over to her apartment and we just hung out listening to music, watching her cat "Arrow" entertain us and she played her nice acoustic Martin guitar and sang.
I brought the Van Morrison Bang Masters CD over and played some songs from it including the one below. She had never heard this song and fell in love with it instantly. She learned the guitar part very quickly and perfectly and sang the song somewhat often including some live shows from what I recall.
