One of the most iconic songs of my childhood. The synaesthesia is almost overwhelming. I refused to take skating lessons because of the bright lights and noisy spectators at our local, indoor arena. My father withdrew me from lessons, bought me orange fuzzy skate covers to keep my feet warm and taught me to skate on the creek behind our property. We would only go on cloudy days because even he didn't like bright sunlight. We would joke about being "blinded by the light" if we had to skate or be outdoors on sunny days with snow. That was our personal hell; sunlight on snow can be overpowering for sensitive, autistic eyes! We lived right beside the creek but Dad always took the car so we could detour for hot chocolate on the way home. I held my stocking feet to warm up my toes in the car. We heard this song once while getting hot chocolate during a heavy snowfall after skating, and we thought it was very fitting!
I'll never forget that day.
This song also reminds me of those times with dad. We liked the "hazy days" in the winter for skating.
There's a photo of me skating with my dad on the pond in my orange fuzzy skates, but I likely shouldn't post it
Seasons change with their scenery Weaving time in a tapestry Won't you stop and remember me?

Holy smokes HighLlama, nice to know that there is more than one person here who's heard of the dB's
I love the dB's! I found Ride the Wild Tom Tom in my teen years, and that was my introduction. I also have some Chris Stamey solo albums which I love, like It's Alright.
