"And yesterday I saw you standing by the river,
And weren't those tears that filled your eyes,
And all the fish that lay in dirty water dying,
Had they got you hypnotized?
And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers,
But all that lives is born to die
And so I say to you that nothing really matters,
And all you do is stand and cry"

...Right now the S.F. PBS station, KQED, is doing the usual PBS pledge week " gimmie ' spiel after the end of an old (obviously  ).Frank Sinatra concert, Frankie Baby did " My Kind Of Town (Chicago Is) " :), I came in on that, then "My Way ", then over!! !! !! !! !! ! They did switch back to the end credits, orchestra playing " My Way " over Frank's applause, then over, it was a London concert from 1970. It was long-unreleased, I guess, " new " in that way. Now it's BBC News For America, if I get that right, a BBC-producec daily news show for PBS I guess. A Brit anchorwoman, it is covering America alone at the beginning of the show*, the reporters she speaks to are Americans, show's coming from Washington. So Trump is getting back at Pelosi by cancelling her forigen trip. Wheeeeeeeee!
I used to just love/love Jonathan Richman/the Modern Lovers. I just lost track of his music after the Modern Lovers officially ended in the early Eighties :| . I knew he still existed, I just didn't hear him. Maybe to a certain extent it's a " what I didn't do in the Seventies " :( symbol.
I - Won't Say Here - the thing - question - about Jonathan Richman I've long meant to bring up here. Guess!  Now, the I-presume American-made PBS News Hour is beginning.
*-The. went on to some Brit things - more Brexit/May and the Duke %of Edinburgh's accident 8O!

We, definitely, don't want to lose Public Television like PBS.

They provide quality programming----and it sometimes costs A LOT to put on some of those shows.

It's a pain in the butt, yes----but I understand why they put on the "spiel."

...I don't disagree. I don't think you thought I wanted to dump PBS, did ya 8O ? I was just describing it...pointing it out. If I'd had that do$h/Benjamins...

DIGRESSION-I am now watching - well, not so much, now  - Spider-Man: Homecoming on the I -house movies on the room TV in the hospital where, as you know, I am again now :) . Spider-Man, if course, comes from your borough, Queens - Were you born there? LL Cool N !which see) and RUN-DMC, too, IIRC.

...I might've joined PBS then and got a combination CD/DVD of 5 previously unreleased Frankie concerts (2 video, 3 audio, including what was on)...If, too, I weren't:t homeless and sans any audio/video player whatsoever beyond what I'm using right now :(. Even making fun of it...PBS could be a symbol of the respectable bougeois (Spelled right?) I could have been  IF...........................................................................(more below)

.

Why don't we stop fooling ourselves?
The game is over,
Over,
Over.

No good times, no bad times,
There's no times at all,
Just The New York Times,
Sitting on the windowsill
Near the flowers.

We might as well be apart.
It hardly matters,
We sleep separately.
