Cool track.

I taught myself how to make track.

Marvellous. Wish I could weld.

I do have lots of tools from my engineering days - I used to be much more active.

This is something interesting. I made this carriage from tea sturers, lollypop sticks, four matchsticks, other little wooden battons etc... runs on old Romford 10.5mm wheels.

It is soldering. A bit of a mess as I was learning how to build the track, so I kept needing to reheat the solder to reposition the rails etc.

Made from a modifies old Triang coach bogie which has had new wheels mounted on the origional axles. The body is made from very rusty tin.

Waggon building project.

I saw these farmyard boxes in a toy section of a store. Uhmmm. I had already casr myself some resin sides. Ooh. They look like they will fit. Uhmmm.



Carefully dissasembling some wooden parts, and cutting the boxes in half... I have enough parts to make two waggons out of each crate!



So cut in half and re-assembled they are just right.



So after assembling a few and painting...



Then comes adding the central buffer couplings built to my own design... Along with individually numbering the waggons...



Here is an example of how the couplings work. One if the drop loops is lifted over the buffer of the next waggon...



And there you have it. Twelve waggons made from a packet of farmyard boxes!

I recently read Raising Steam by Terry Pratchett - I think it would be right up your street.

You would probably understand the descriptive train engineering better than I.

A girlfriend I used to have wanted me to read that and I did read a bit of it, but I found it confusing.... I mean... Is a very different world. I have spent so many years masking that I want the real world. She was a beautiful lady though. A real "Gem". She is married now and I am pleased for her.

Yeah, I suppose you have to be into the author and his discworld series.

The girlfriend I used to have loved Terry Pratchett books.

I really miss her as a friend as we got along so well. Actually... she has aspergers. I was dating her before I knew anything about it.

I know the things I make are rather characterful and unique, but I don't really seem to have any special giftings. Just a love for the things that I make.

This little waggon below is probably one of the more difficult ones that I have made.

It seems amazing to me that you've made this stuff, and from materials as easily found as those I've really enjoyed seeing it all!

My grandmother taught me to knit- I spent about 2 months beforehand trying and failing, and then she taught me in about 10 minutes .

Here's my blanket

It was my first attempt at a blanket, and is super messy but I it. I'm currently attempting to make one much bigger, and hopefully a bit neater .
