Seems to have been colourized, whereas the original 1969 broadcast was in black and white. Also the sound has been corrected - b & w versions had very subdued sound until halfway through, when it burst into life - I think I preferred the drama and anticipation of the original!

Lol, 1982 I think. I recall this as a low point in my 'career', but the peak of a great era for British pop music before a horrendous decline took place from about 1984 onwards. The brunette lady in this video became the wife of Pete Waterman, impressario extraordinario and member of the Stock Aitken & Waterman management company which dominated the UK chart scene for many years.

And here's their other 1982 hit. Some strange lion-related shenanigans going on here. I think this song originated in the early 1960s, not sure what its creators would've made of this.

Hmm, and here's a version of 'Tight Fit' from 1981. Not sure at all how this relates to the stuff from the following year. Maybe need to do some further research on this...
