I find Tom Lehrer interesting but unpleasant.

Musical satire, black humour.

Song for WWIII...

(And this is where I started, with a warning for comedy violence.)


I posted Masochism Tango at first but I think it is too unpleasant even for me :) although a fantastic musical performance, lyrics aside!

This isn't Monty Python's wholesome gallows humour and I've been wondering what the difference is. I think Tom Lehrer is more self-conscious, and also that there is a core of real bitterness. But I believe that that is in part a cultural difference.
