Hi! I think this is my first time posting on a forum on this site. But I'm gonna try it. Anyway, I write folk music. I'm actually mainly a lyricist. I think my two signature songs right now are "Skyler" and "My Twin Sister," which are also more upbeat than most of my others. Both are social statements. You can hear them at

BTW the third song is one that my mom started writing when she was younger, and I finished it and arranged the instrumentation. She's the other person singing on it.
I've struggled a lot as a performing artist with Asperger's. In the past few months, I've been kicked out of two groups because of problems related to it. Fortunately, I'm in another group, the Second Step Players, that is specifically for people with mental disabilities, so they help me out instead of turning me away. There are still a lot of days I just want to be normal, though, so people will accept me. Have you guys felt like that? The world has been a scary place lately.
hi,Kat

The first I ever heard of any spectrum type things related to me was from a band-mate who worked with "low functioning" autistic people as a day job.He was sincerely frustrated by my introversion, imagination, and stimming. He was generally difficult to deal with,so that perspective didn't mean much to me at the time. But being in a performing band full-time was stressful.
"Normal" or not, cherish who you are, regardless of societal validation.I'm not sure if anyone is really normal anyway, but at least you know there are many folks who can understand your struggles and talents.
I'm glad you've found cohorts with whom you can be sympathetic and productive. That can be mighty helpful, imho.Your music has a melodious innocence and sensitivity that reminds me of very early Kate Bush,if that doesn't offend. You're a lovely guitar player too.Very nice.
