Oh s**t. So I done lots of research about American culture during the mid-1800s and my story has a lot of truths from that time, but I totally forgot about the marriage and divorce laws. I thought it was like how it is today - if you have separated and living in different homes then you can see other people. I'm hoping that maybe women from higher class families got support from their parents for court proceedings and divorce could just go ahead like that, maybe without the man needing to be too involved.

EDIT: It's okay, I've found out a solution. Apparently people went to Indiana to get divorced quickly and easily, so I can just have the wife do that in my story. Thank you, Indiana, you saved my story!

I've been working on a female-led Western for some time now, making sure her stalker gets what he deserves.

During fight scenes, she never uses guns, just her hands and dry wit with some cursing to match.

She is a schoolteacher who unexpectedly becomes a surprise hit with the town's children.

I finished this earlier today and I will get it together to send it off to the
US Copyright Office when I get the finances to do so.

I will try to send this story to the US Copyright Office by the end of this month or the beginning of next month, but I will do so in a way so my family won't notice. I do accept the fact that being sneaky is never a good thing.

I will be going to a post office later to mail off the manuscript to the US Copyright Office.

I have the finances to do so.

In a later scene, her stalker appears out of nowhere, but apologizes for his actions against her agreeing to help her take down a pair of thieves who pose as bounty hunters terrorizing the town's children regardless of class level and social status.

In another scene, she helps a homeless man turn his life around by giving him a large amount of money (people ignore him even as he screams "HELP A HOMELESS MAN AND HIS DOG OUT! NOT EVEN A TINY BIT OF MONEY?!") and a note to go with it. "Use this money wisely not only for shelter for yourself and your dog, but also for veterinarian care for your dog." "If you're this town's school teacher, how did you get this large amount of money?" She pats the dog on the head and walks away.
