Well, they're not going to get much of that from me. I'm more inclined to give respect to those electronic experimentalists of the 1960s....Like Pauline Oliveros and Morton Subotnick.

I don't see what the big deal about the Beatles is. Sure, they have some good songs but they are far from being the best band ever.

There is no such thing as "best band". I prefer people who genuinely like The Beatles. I hate when any band is assigned a certain role in the music world. It's just such an ugly thing to do.

My mother said that she never saw a point in The Beatles. I thought it was sad, but she has other musical interests. We have to accept that not everyone likes the same things.

You know what I really hate? 70s Rolling Stones. It's just so... ugh... They were brilliant in the 60s, but then they became "proper rock". I love their early blues sound. But the 70s... I don't know... I know it sounds stupid, but after Brian Jones left the band... they lost their appeal. Suddenly they were a product to be consumed just for the sake of it.

People say the Beatles were the best band of their time. Not true! you had "The Kinks",The "Rolling Stones","The Faces" and the "Yard-birds".
These bands are all more talented then the un-fab 4.

Well, they were the most commercially successful band of their time. Many people perhaps think this means they were "the best". But it's two different things. You cannot quantify a band's appeal. It's like quantifying emotion.

It's like scientific researches about love. You can explain how attraction works on a physical basis, how the hormones work, etc. But you cannot explain the feeling.

A fan would argue that the late Beatles were fantastic and very artistic. True but only when Harrison writes and sometimes Lennon.
"I am the Walrus" Should be changed to "I am the acid" because you have to be under the influence of acid to enjoy that crap.

I really got into Oasis because of their cover version of this song. I was overwhelmed. Of course, their version was much louder and more experimental than the original song.

They only allowed John and Paul to sing except on the rare occasion when George and Ringo were allowed to sing.

You know what makes me really sad? That people keep making fun of Ringo's vocals. But I am absolutely in love with "With A Little Help From My Friends". <3 Stop the Ringo bitching, people! I don't think he was a bad drummer either. Maybe people do not realize how accomplished you have to be just to be able to play the drums at all.

Well, what can I say? I can't say I don't understand the band's appeal as they were the first band I got seriously interested in. I think they are very charming and I love many of their songs. I wouldn't say they were "worse" than The Kinks or The Rolling Stones or The Yardbirds. Of course, Brian Jones was an accomplished musician. Or Jimmy Page. Or... Jeff Beck. But you have to remember that The Beatles come from a different background. They were never professionally trained. As in... they did not study music at university. Thus their music was more... intuitive. But that's cool, too.

They are more accessible than other 60s bands and that's very likely the reason why they were and still are so popular.
