Joey Jordison from Slipknot

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JopQMbr1lYU

Hellhammer from Dimmu Borgir (He doesn't play in it anymore)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS6JijwA61E

And frost from 1349, also Satyricon, but i can't decide which one is better of Hellhammer and Frost, he drums so fast in this song, from the first seconds, you realise that this guy is a monster from another dimension

From curiosity, I listened to the last one and that's true: he goes fast, very very very fast 8O , without missing one single beat

Those guys are quite good.

Have you every heard Buddy Rich?

Also, there are many different ways to define what is "best" - it isn't always just "fastest." Steve Gadd is often referred to as one of the best "groove" drummers.

I've heard of Buddy Rich, he's the butt of a lot of drummer jokes. He was a very hard person to get along with, and many musicians regretted playing with him...;)

I'd say Neil Pert, Phil Collins (and the 'other guy, Chester Thompson, is that right?), maybe Carl Palmer (though to be honest, back when I had a set, a lot of his stuff was based on the snare...;)
Alan White, and the rest of the Yes crew.

My Top 10

- Buddy Rich
- John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
- Neil Peart (Rush)
- Igor Cavalera (Sepultura)
- Phil Collins
- Danny Carey (Tool)
- Vinnie Paul (Pantera)
- Joey Jordison (Slipknot)
- Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher)
- Keith Moon (The Who)

I play the drums, so if you ever see me/hear me play, I will most likely copy all their style of drumming.

There's no reason to have this thread :P

His name was John Bonham (a.k.a Bonzo) and he played in Led Zeppelin.

He did not play with a double kick bass pedal, just a single kick on a single bass drum, yet he could make the guy from Slayer look slow. Make sure to listen to the whole thing for maximum effect :D

And best bassist goes to:

Cliff Burton

I cannot believe there could be a thread this long about drummers and still no mention of Cozy Cole or Gene Krupa. Sandy Nelson may or may not be in their league but he's one of my favorites, too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAQZYw0k ... re=related

Now, that is a happy drum. Before I ever know who he was I always liked the "happy drum" sound. Then when I finally got around to checking online, I read that when he played he always had a big grin on his face.

Then there's:

And:
