my favorite comedic band since childhood. in fact, theyre the only comedy bands that i like.
theyre genious, sophisticated, and best of all: they are master musicians.
they design and make their own instruments, and create entire ballets and other pieces - as a joke :D
usually their pieces have a (exaggeratedly tediously sombre) narrative, by the bald old man in the chair, background music, and sketches.

this is one of their more recent pieces, and one of the FEW without their own designed instruments. picking a piece among the rest would be too time consuming really :D personally i enjoy their old classical stuff from the 70's and 80's, but this piece is just brilliant.

the whole crew, and some of their favorite instruments:

You might want to check out PDQ Bach; he did a work or two for Horn and HardHart...;) Strings vs Brass, etc.

oh they arent specific to combining music styles or anything, theyre extremely versatile, this is just one idea, and somewhat of an exception to their usual style. orchestras are usually not part of their routine

my favorite piece is one where they do a comedic 5-man "musical" about "don rodrigo" who discovers the americas in 1497, and makes a dork of himself from el rio de la plata north along the andes, ending his days in the carribean, throughout it they imitate musical styles up through south america

they are very fascinated by european baroque composers, whom they often describe in their narratives, often under the name of "mastropiero", and they often use this intro for any kind of music style to follow, for comedic effect.
baroque composers, in their pieces, will produce anything from baroque music, to brazilian bossa nova :D
