(Is this even the right forum section? I consider avatar making to be an art of sorts... so. Dunno.).

So, does anyone else here like making avatars?
I make mostly Kingdom Hearts ones, but have made some from other things.

Saw your site, rather nice avatars. I have tried to make them during my time on combat grounds, but had no right software.

Well, there is always the trial version of things like, Photoshop. That's what I'm using.

Well, I didn't say anything about using the avatars you make.

(although I currently am using one of mine.).

at the risk of having Photoshop experts drub me into submission, look for some thing called the Gimp; does most of what Photoshop does, and it's free. You can pick up all sorts of effects and actions over at Deviant art. It's what I use.

I do my own Avatars, this is #5 since 2007, I think. Poser, Bryce, and the Gimp.

I usually use Paint to resize my pictures. Some of them are screenshots taken from YouTube, using the screen capture function.

Don't know why anyone would do that; I wouldn't. Every program has it's weaknesses and strengths, and both people that like and hate it.
(then again, I'm certainly not an "expert", heh.).

Neither am I... No, in every field you're going to have people who cling a bit too closely to what's 'the best', or 'don't bother'... I see programs as tools; it's the result I want.
