Please tell me there are people here who read these books. I'd always had the Lord of the Rings as my favourite fantasy work in till I read A Game of Thrones. I just taken in the grittiness of the world and the characters that inhabit it that George R.R. Martin had created.

There are many threads on favorite books -- do a search and you can find the threads and the people who read or revive the topic.

Heee~
First posting here! :D

Um I have read them!!
I had an online friend in the USA who mentioned A Game of Thrones, so I found it in the library and read it.
I also read Clash of Kings, Storm of Swords, and Feast for Crows, the books that come after..
I dunno if Dance of Dragons is out yet...

Probably my favourite character in the story is Danaerys... she goes through so much, yet still comes out strong!

Read them all a few years back. My favourite fantasy books. I loved the fact that they were generally grounded more towards reality than wizards throwing fireballs about and such. I imagine it'll be a while before the next book, even though it's been ages anyway.

I've read the four books three times over. I can't wait for book 5!

I hope Tyrion pops up again. He was my favorite character.

I liked the first one, but my interest has waned as the series grows ever larger. I'm at the point where I actively want the evil bad guys to sweep down out of the frozen North and utterly eradicate all life on Westeros just to bring the series to a close.

Brilliant series. Truly epic, sweeping, heart-pounding moments, with decent small but striking moments of comedy and horror. Jon Snow and the Night's Watch are my favorites, though every scene at Harrenhall in the first three books was beautifully frightening and shockingly brutal. Also looking forward to seeing more of Beric Dondarrion and certain zombified former main characters ;).

It used to be my fave series, but i felt really betrayed by how long the next book is taking. Jon was the best character! Brienne rocks. that battle at sea was good in the last book.

God, Brienne had better survive. I enjoyed reading about her.
