Is anyone doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year? I will be participating for the 5th year in a row this year (I won every year that I participated except 2007). It starts November 1st.

If you haven't heard of it, it's a writing challenge in which participants attempt to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. The website is nanowrimo.org if anyone is interested.

edit: Here's something I wrote with more information about the event: Can You Write A Novel In A Month?

Nah, I'm not. I prefer to write novels at my own pace and schedule. I'm struggling with the plotline of a novel I am currently doing...

If I succeeded at NNWM I'd nearly finish the novel I'm writing at the moment. But it's no good rushing through if it leaves the story in a terrible state. I've only got 30k words down at the moment, but it hasn't derailed itself yet and that is a very good sign.

I might do it just to see if I can write a novel.

Nah...I'm not going to do that. :p But I'll acknowledge the month as National Novel Writing Month. :D
