I'm placing this here because I'm mainly thinking of music video (in that a music video is what gave me the idea). My brother recently posted an irritating video of people playing some kind of weird theramin that uses a Russian matroyshka doll... said it seemed like my kind of thing. He admitted later that it was because it was his kind of thing. I've been trying to get the point across to the danged fool that I am not just like him. I posted this recently as what IS my thing:

But even as I watch it yet again, simple smile upon my lips, I wonder why in blazes it pleases me so much! Plaid shirts? Bicycles? John and John with mighty overbite and square skull, respectively? But so help me, I love it!

I also enjoy this one, more explicably... I like to watch them actually making the gorgeous harmonies I've listened to so much. It just pleases me. Or maybe the drummer looking like a little girl fascinates... he really did. But not Freddy in the concert suit, where he looks like he forced his body into a popped balloon and went out to perform. I have this strange urge to avert my eyes when he parades around in that...

Alright, your turn. What video do you just stare at raptly while it plays? Or other inexplicable source of enjoyment, one that boggles even you... like those Boba drinks (how can people love those? I don't know. They look like lemur eyeballs in there...).

I've been having such a bad night and your post really cheered me up. :D Thank you.
I love both the songs/videos you chose, especially the They Might Be Giants one. The hopping is my favorite part.

Here is one of my favorites:

A lot of Sigur Ros's music videos make me feel nostalgic. Really happy. For this one, I think it is the whole "doing what is not expected of you" and the reminiscing on childhood aspects of it. Visually they are all beautiful. It brings out a mixed happiness for me. A combination of nostalgia/happiness/bittersweet/and inspiration. That is my favorite feeling personally. I don't really know what it is called. I like it because it is almost restrained in a way. I'm in control of it. I don't have to rely on other people to feel it. It's very personal and inside and kinda secretive.

The only other thing I can think of that makes me instantly happy and isn't connected to my special interests is glitter or sparkly things. That is much more of a giddiness and doesn't last long. It's sorta nice to have something that can catch my attention even if I am out in public and overwhelmed and completely change my state of mind, even if it is only for a bit.

I have a thing for women singing sad or warm songs, it feels intamate somehow. Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Bjork and alot of one hit wonder sorta singers. Ran across these two girls on youtube and I grin everytime I listen to them.

I aslo like a good AMV. Unfortuantly good ones are fairly rare (really polished ones I mean).

:) Wow, that's beautiful. They have wonderful voices.

The fretless bass in this song does things to me:

Puts me straight into a trance....
