And if he sees it, I hope Makuranusoshi likes it because he's helped me to think more about how what I write/say will come off.

Nice. Is that you? You would make a great jazz guitarist. It just goes to show how much fusion/cool is related to great classical composers

That rendition sounds strangely Bossa Nova/Tropicália/MPB (not the up beat stuff) such as Milton Nascimento/ Caetano Veloso ilk. It is basically the repetitive phrases on top of the cords, love it.

Yes it is me, thank you :-)

Talking about Jazz guitar, the reason I got into playing this way (tapping) is the Jazz virtuoso Stanley Jordan and if you look at the bottom right on the vid you can see I have his instructional booklet on my table haha...

I don't know those two composers so I will look them up!

Stanley Jordan FTW. Do you like Joe Pass? He was another genius. Oscar Peterson (GOD) and Joe has to be the best combination of all time.

Definitely a fan of taping, it makes a change from badly strum chords and that horrible brushing sound you get. Thought I forgive some bands for that if the song holds its weight.

Milton Nascimento has to be Brazil's best composer IMO, and is he pretty good when he not doing composing too. Often it is simple phrases that are just as powerful whether played softly or hard. Caetano Veloso is unique, say no more.

Much of that era was heavily influenced by Baroque counter-point, polyrhythm, syncopation, etc. It makes it more accessible to me because I find some Baroque instruments organ/harpsichord of that era can grate a bit sensory wise.

Yes, I like Joe Pass.

Another great Joe is Joe Diorio!

Yes, I like tapping because it gives you more control over dynamics more easily if the guitar is set up right... Like strumming has a minimum loudness much louder than tapping and like you said you can hear the persons hands or pick too much sometimes!
