I've had an idea, what if someone wrote a novel where the main character had AS? I think it could be a good book if it was well written.

I believe there are several regular posters here on WP who are working on various pieces of fiction which include AS characters. I'm not aware whether anyone has completed and published yet, but I'm sure its just a matter of time.

I'm currently about two-thirds of the way through a novel in which one of my principals is a character with AS (he's the reason for this choice of avatar and username as a matter of fact). Though his condition is not the theme of the story, I think it makes him more interesting and gives me a way to present AS in an everyday context for people who wouldn't be motivated to browse dry informational reference material on a condition they don't have. I'm just using this character to put a sympathetic human face on ASD. The actual story arc is something else entirely.

curious incident of the dog in the nighttime

Just a few off the top of my head.

Idk, I think it'd make a good character driven plot, I mean, they have a bunch of other topics in the "young adult" genre, why not?

What, did you completely skip over the other posts? Said topic has been done before.

I've done plenty of aspie stories. I have several aspie characters in my fanfiction and I once wrote a original story and the character in it was undiagnosed. The label was never mentioned.

Jodi Picoult's upcoming novel has an MC w/ Asperger's. It's called House Rules. Sorry, I'm not allowed to post links yet.
