An interesting piece of obscure musical Washingtoniana from an out-of-print (I wonder why) album by the God Father of Go-Go music the late great Chuck Brown.
Brown and his band back him up...but (about two minutes in) you hear a rap performance by, none other, than D.C. mayor Marion Berry.
He stumbles and says "this is harder than being mayor", but then he gets into the spirit and gives a rather rousing performance addressed to the youth of city to "stay drug free". Too bad a year later he was busted for smoking crack (the b***h set me up!). The track is sad, or funny, depending on how you view it.
