Almost all the music I listen to is techno, though sometimes I like a little variety and listen to pop, 90s rock, goth rock or rap.

Nearly all kinds of music, I'm not fussy.
But I don't like metal that much though, except for nu-metal, I love nu-metal.

The list would be too difficult to compile. I like such specific songs by such a wide and random array of musical styles and artists and composers that the theme of most any playlist I compile is hard to name for anyone but me.

The things I have taken up most recently are The Alfee, Kevin Max and Sean Lennon. The groups whose music has the broadest appeal for me (as opposed to a single song or two) are Rush, They Might Be Giants, The Alfee, Queen, the Kinks, and The Beatles. I could list my favorite composers, the songwriters I most respect, the songs that please me best individually, the unusual music I favor... I'd still have to cover the various time periods, cultures, soundtracks... no. It's too much.

I'll tell you this, though. iTunes and the like have been fantastic for someone like me, who often wants to buy songs individually.

Too many in too many different genres.

And they range from the eras of the 1500's-2010.

Classic Rock

Techno

Indie

International

New Age

Country

Blues

Folk

Jazz

Rap

Alternative

Pop

Reggae

Classical

Mixed genres...I don't know how you'd categorize them.

If you check out my youtube collection, you get the idea...

Pretty much anything except for soft rock and country.

Especially country. Damn I hate country. May sound weird coming from a Wyoming resident, but it's true.

As for other genres, I tend to like any and all of them, but on a song-by-song basis. I can like one song out of an entire genre, or all the songs in a genre except for one.

Anyways, my favorite genre as of now is the J-pop/J-rock genre (Japanese music.) You hear a lot of the more popular songs during the opening sequences of an anime series. These, of course, are shortened versions, and the full versions are hard to find... unless you're like me and know where to look.

A friend recently sent me this song, which is #1 on my iPod right now. It's the theme to the mystery video game Time Hollow:
