I heard someone say that the melody for this song was a rip-off. Is this true?

Reminds me a lot of Kate Bush-The Dreaming album but I don't remember
all the songs, its been like 10 years since I played it.

There are finite melodies but anyway if its sampled remixed or replayed then it can
still be legitimately licensed from whoever arranged the melody. Nobody thinks
its a ripoff to reuse with permission, or are all covers ripoffs? Reusing without
permission is hard to prove if not every note is the same. Everything is different
in a different key with different chords and a few missing notes. I don't have
song recognition software up now nor Shazam which is very good at that.

The problem of finite melodies is that as soon as they are used up they can't
be owned anymore, but I so redundantly solved the culture piRIAAte problem
over the past 10 years that everyone should really just sing and play whatever
they like and donate to the band and let that ship sink, I'm sick and tired of
the not just greed, the unconstitutional ban on freedom of expression in
popular culture, if you're not a rogue publisher or have a contract with
the label then its good to sing and play music, especially nice music.
I haven't really noticed for sure if the crap stopped, but if it is still hitting
the fan then we can blame the labels for making the recession even
more of a depression... psychological warfare... treason !
