I may actually work on it at the same time as my other one, that way I dont get entirely bored of my old stuff and just quit on it like I have in the past. Maybe I just need to engage in multiple projects at once. In turn of realizing this, I have come up with yet another story I am working on. Some details are as follows, and I would really like some input.

Takes place on a world where High Technology reigns supreme. There is plenty of political and social upheaval that will be happening as a result of certain... things becoming apparent. On this world I have created for the story, spiritualism/religion is a big thing. There will of course be the great-widespread corrupt church (pretty much me throwing a few punches at the big organised religions of real life, a 'take that' if you will); as well as there being a small, somewhat unknown and secretive sect that has been around far longer, and some stuff will happen involving these religions and their effects on society. There is also yet another group who will be having its hand in trying to shape existence. There is a world government for 1, and it is a big giant theocracy controlled by said corrupt church.

Certain people find out the true story of origin and all that and it WILL set off conflict after conflict.

This technology might just be high enough that it thouroughly destroys the lines between science and magic and whatnot.

as for my influences, lets see....
1)The way I view society and everything
2)Xenogears/Xenosaga (most likely the largest influence)
3)Discworld
4)Final Fantasy XIII
5)Tales of symphonia
6)Dresden Files
7)Might be a bit of Dr Who in there as well
8)Blade Runner
9)Ghost in the Shell
10)Noein
11)Evangelion
12)Star Ocean 2
13)Neuromancer
14) The Matrix Trilogy

I am also gonna mention that this is gonna be more or less an episodic series. It means I am either gonna host each separate written 'arc/episode/chapter' on Deviant art or a blog I will make for the purpose. I will also host each episode on here as well (probably on my 'journal') that way I can keep you all in the loop that much easier.

this is about all the info I can provide currently however.

Sounds almost exactly like the His Dark Materials Trilogy...

Sounds interesting! There are no new stories to tell, just interesting and less interesting takes on them.

Thats the thing, pretty much most ides have already been done in some way shape or form. in essences society has reached a dead end.

and Xenu, thats the first time ive heard of that. and it pertains to my first statement saying that in essence someone prolly has come up with whatever idea already, there is no more romm for 'TRUE' creative innovation in this damn world anymore.

Doubt me? Go the hell ahead, but I am not ******* lying. Its not something that EVERYONE reads/watches or whatever. People find out new **** every day. I don't have to read or watch everything. Maybe I will now that it is mentioned just to ******* satisfy you because you have to be an ass about it :/

All I was saying is that it was suspicious... No need to go ape s**t on me. And if you actually finished the book and distributed it you would get the same thing from critics.

I apologize if I came off too strong. I wasn't necessarily calling you a liar but I wasn't really being nice so I apologize.
But the idea has some subtle differences and I am sure that it would be different in terms of vision but your description sounds an like the Trilogy only without Daemons or Alternate worlds. But yeah you should definitely read the trilogy. It has got to be one of my favorite book series ever. The first book "The Golden Compass" Is good but the series REALLY picks up in the second book "The Subtle Knife" and then the third book "The Amber Spyglass" is just crazy awesome. Sadly though the series has probably been tarnished by a lot of the average reader because of the TERRIBLE film adaption of The Golden Compass a few years back.

That tends to be how film adaptations are. I know George R. R. Martins 'A song of Ice and Fire' series is gonna be on HBO. Hopefully it will be a good adaptation of it since The author is having direct input during production, so more control from his view over how it is.

well, I have a more cleared-up/complete idea of the overall direction, so I started to work on a little prologue bit.

Quote:
My past is just a memory, its charred remnants scattered to the four winds. We never knew the Holy Empire of Zeddikai would have called for a crusade against our world, Equis. We tried to fight back, but many have died. We just gave up.
Nowadays we are treated like third class citizens, simply because we aren't descended from the bloodlines of those who belonged with the empire since the beginning. They have raped our resources and stomped all over the rights we hold dear.
Those of us who still remember, we now want nothing more but to spill the blood of those damn imperials who have thrust their BS religion down our throats. The movement is stirring, the Equis Freedom Army will make its move soon enough.

Wow.... this sounds pretty good and almost completely different now from His Dark Materials.
