I like the Saxophone, Guitar, and Bass solos

I also like some of the flute solos in songs also and Piano

Organ, flute, violin, and synth.

I enjoy drum solos.

a mandarin stringed instrument called the er hu- in the hands of a master it can play the listener like a, well, violin. it is such an emotionally resonant instrument.

the celeste has a heavenly, pure, bell sound that is unique among keyboard instruments.

the theatrical wurlitzer pipe organ can play solos on one or more of its numerous keyboard-linked stops or chromatic percussion instruments, as well as accompany itself with a vast array of pipes and percussions.

the contrabass saxophone is a surprisingly expressive brass and reed voice, with a facile upper register, a mellow midrange and a stentorian bass register that makes the air vibrate about the instrument. an unmistakeable sound.

the BBb contrabass clarinet has a sonorous, air-vibrating woody sound that penetrates the air like a digeridoo but 2 octaves lower. very rich and mellow.

the contrabass flute in C is a totally unique foggy sound that resonates like a deep-bass organ pipe. a hauntingly deep and owl-hoot-like sound.
a similar sound comes from the contrabass ocarina.

orchestral pedal harp- together with the celesta, the sounds of heaven. i have several recordings of a harpist playing in the jazz idiom, that is truly sublime.

the theramin is that sci-fi sound you have heard in the movies, a woody-yet-electronic sound that also was "borrowed" for the beach boys tune "good vibrations."

the gamelan produces a calming, ancient melodic sound, softly percussive and very round and full. there is much music that would benefit from this sound.

the bode ring modulator module of a modular old moog synthesizer system- a spacy trippy sound.

Definitely the Banjo.Other than that,i have the strange habit of putting complex,layered pads together into one instrument,load them in a sampler and compose solo's for that "instrument".
