It is now my favorite of the six I've read. I was blown away by the complexity J. K. Rowling was able to weave into the story. To say this is a story for kids is completely underestimating a wonderful story anyone can enjoy. I used to be one of those that rolled my eyes whenever I heard people praise Harry Potter. Now I get it.

I thought I would wait until after the film was out before reading the final book, however since the final film will be in two parts I thought it would be safe to proceed forward and start reading Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows. I just hope the film will be spot on with the novel. Speaking of which here is the latest trailer.

Is anyone else a fan of the series?!

I also finished Mass Effect 2 today. What I find interesting about the series so far is how the writers can take singularities and make them epic by virtue of their actions. For example the first game was about the Saren and the geth he leads, while the second is about an enigmatic race called the Collectors. By themselves they're not that epic, but what they do and how the story unfolds creates that epic atmosphere.

Anyhow I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3! Considering most developers end series on third installments I hope BioWare will continue making ME games past ME3. I really enjoy the series and don't want to see it vanish.

Finished it a month or so ago, thought it a major return to form since the debacle that was Order of the Phoenix, and The Deathly Hallows was probably the best of them all.

I love the Harry Potter books. My son loves them. Thank you so much for posting the Deathly Hallows trailer. It looks great. I miss the days when there was always another HP book ready to come out. I think they are masterpieces, especially Deathly Hallows, and even though I've read a lot of lit (I have an M.A. in English, Deathly Hallows is right up there with the classics.

I watched an interview on Youtube (my apologies I forgot which) where J.K. Rowling said she broke down at the end of writing Harry Potter and drank a few glasses of champagne to calm her nerves. I can only translate that to mean the ending of Deadly Hollows is very traumatic.

On a side note I'm really upset by how they ended the Half Blood Prince film. In the book there was a huge funeral for Dumbledore. Everyone from the previous six books came to pay their respects, even Grawp (who appeared to be somewhat civilized by Hagrid)! I don't understand why the film makers couldn't have added at least 20 more minutes to the film with the inclusion of a proper funeral scene. Dumbledore was such a key character and they gave him NO send off (I don't consider teachers and students holding up illuminated wands a funeral). At least when Kirk died in Star Trek Generations there was some sort of solemn funeral scene with Picard. I understand why there wasn't a huge funeral for Kirk back on earth, but I digress. I think had the film makers added Dumbledore's funeral as it appeared in the book this would've given the film the emotional ending it greatly needed.

I finished it, uhm, you know.. when it came out in 2005? That was a while ago. Can't really remember much. I do remember, however, that I found the ending to be utterly heartbreaking.
