I haven't seen the movie or the stage production but I have read the original book it was based on.

That was one of my interests. I read the book at least twice. I was first interested because someone had the stage soundtrack and then I read the book The Bantam unabridged not the stage adaption.

I've seen the movie version and I thought it was good. My mom and I want to see the stage version whenever it comes to our city. I think that would be fun; I hear it's incredible.

I love both film versions I've seen. Haven't had the chance to see it live yet but I would love to some day.

I've seen the stage version twice, and absolutely loved it. If I could sing the role of Christine Daae someday, I'd be a very very happy woman. :D

For those of you who want to see the stage production of "Phantom," this is it's last time touring... absolutely hate to be the berrer of bad tidings, but I am a COMPLETE Phantom Phan & have ever since I was 8 years of age! I am going to see it over in Los Angeles for my 5 time seeing the stage production! It makes me extremely sadden that the best of portrayials done by presumably the worlds foremost mondern-day musical composer/ writer is coming to its touring close. :( But if one stops to think about it, it's already in Vegas, and it's not showing any slowing signs upon the "Great White Way," Broadway... & it's already the longest running musical that Broadway's seen, currently, to date.

So, with this said... good luck with getting tickets (if you are attempting to get them) & if not, you can always attempt to go and see it at the Venition Hotel in Vegas, &/ or on Broadway (that is if you can afford to with the economy being as how it is, and all else).

I've also have seen the film adaptation of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom" 4 times in the movie theatres... especially upon opening day! & yes, I've also read both books on "Phantom:" Susan Kay's "Phantom," in which I'll have you know that it's is extremely loosely based upon Wwbber's musical & Gaston Leroux's book & own Susan Kay's "Phantom," as well as also own and read Gaston Leroux's "The Phantom of the Opera." (I am actually due to revisit Susan Kay's rendition). :D

I haven't ever seen any version of it (play or movie) but I have listened to the soundtrack numerous times (my sister listened to it a lot after she saw the movie adaptation) and I have the title track on my iPod. Once, sitting in my apartment with my roommates, I was going through my iTunes on shuffle. A song ended and that song came on; I changed it just after the first note, thinking otherwise I would get teased (good-naturedly, of course). Then one of my roommates busts out with the next notes and we both crack up.

I love the play it is fantastic and amazing. However I have a beyond hatred for the Joel Schumacher film adaption (Joel Schumacher rapes everything he touches) I mean Gerard Butler as the Phantom!? WTF! Emmy Rossum was okay but not even close to perfect... And overall it wasn't any good. But I have seen the broadway version twice and am in love with it.

I actually DID enjoy the film version.

HOWEVER...

It doesn't EVEN touch the stage version. I'm just a po' Mississippi boy. My advice: save up some money, get a train to NYC, see the real deal at the Majestic (I assume it's still there?).

WORTH it.
