Not sure how obscure this is, but another oldie that I like is the Banana Boat Song by Harry Belafonte. I just love the calypso feel of it and it always reminds me of the infamous dinner scene from Beetlejuice.

My mother listened to CKLW in the early to mid 50s and she had a bunch of 45s. The best one is Real Humdinger by the Five Pearls. Doo Wop at its best!! Ling Ting Tong is another good one, and possibly the first reference to weed smoking!
