Timon from The Lion King, at the vet's for his anual check-up. The vet is my meerkat fursona...me as a meerkat...She's a special subspecies of meerkat, from another planet. Most people get confused so I just say she is a meerkat/cat cross. The first thing people pick at in this pic is how her paw/hand is shaped... she has dysgraphia (even when not in anthro form) so she holds things kinda weird, so don't be jelous.

She looks more like a cross between a meerkat and a white tiger to me.

Nice picture. I wonder what the results of Timon's checkup were.

Thank you. She has a feline look to her because my art is mostly Lion King influenced unless I am trying to go for realism. Timon's results were normal.

Technically meerkats are classified as herpestidaes (mongooses) but I think they are related to weasels somehow genetically. Her tail usually has a tassle, like a lion's tail, to it but I was too lazy to draw it. It's often braided with golden rings and makes her more sofisticated looking. Thanks.

I don't get why furries think they can take or make fursonas while blatantly ripping off original works such as "The Lion King" and call it an "original work".
You know, having dabbled in the fandom for a little while I don't have a problem with furries but they sure lack originality.

On to the actual critique:
You got the coloring style alright, but the characters look lifeless and a little blocky. The eyes need working on too, perhaps they could be a little more detailed? (Looks like Timon has a crossed eye also.)

That's all. It's still better than what I can do. (Which is why I only do comedic drawings, haha)

Depression for being the subject of many terrible fan drawings and ripoff fursonas. Oh and kidney stones.

Are you saying my fursona is or isn't original? Depression has nothing to do with this pic. I'm combining special intrests, Lion King (Timon is my favorite) and veternary medicine.

Well, you get kudos for drawing the fursona in a different art style as Timon despite the fact they're mystically both the same species.
I'm just saying that lots (perhaps most?) furries with a fursona usually take their ideas from an existing franchise and don't come up with their own material. For example I've seen people draw Mufasa and tack on some glasses and change the colors and call it their own fursona.
You know I'm just rambling, feel free to do what you like.

Yeah, it irks me too when people take Simba and change his color and claim him as their fursona. I've seen some people use Simba as their fursona. Unoriginal fursonas irk me. I never liked Timon's design after I learned about real meerkats. I fell in love with Timon for his character as a child (he reminded me of myself) and he does have a cute face. Having two characters of the same species that don't look anything like each other is the beauty of art...or at least one of them.
