Is there anyone else on here who is obsessed with the band Muse?

I am, and I find that all the Muse fans I know are particularly obsessive. Much more obsessive than fans of other bands.

It's made me wonder if there are many Aspie Musers!

I like Muse but it's not an obsession at all. Actually I rarely take the time to listen to them, even if I like their music, I stick to my favourites between all.

In my experience (of people on the Muse messageboards and those who queue up with me at 5am to see them) a lot of Musers are very obsessive. If there's ever a poll on NME for instance, Muse will win it simply because all the Muse fans will sit there for three days voting over and over again. And I don't know anyone who has been to see them live only once!

I think it's also a social question. The "obsessive" fans stick to their band because they're in an identification process. That's why most of them are teenagers and young adults.

The most obsessive Musers I have met tend to be either in their mid 20s or 40+. There are about forty of us who routinely meet queueing up for gigs around the world, and a lot of them are older.

I went to see Muse last Saturday in Manchester wih my brother. I didn't really know much about them before that really so I wouldn't say I was a fan just yet, but it was a very impressive concert. I'll have to check out the music again without it being quite so overpoweringly loud to see how much I really enjoy it.
I'd never been to a big rock concert like that before so it was a new experience. I didn't seem to be able to maintain the same level of enthusiasm throughout as a lot of the attendees, and I had to grab hold of a railing to have something to avoid being swept away in the crush.

I was obsessed with Muse years ago, but am not anymore. Their fans are a bit over the top, but they also tend to be teenage girls, who get really into really into certain things. Those obsessions are different from AS obsessions.

Anyway, Muse is great (save for their most recent album), and definitely a must-see concert.

Muse is great.

Went to one of their concerts in Portland. The show was amazing. It's now almost impossible for me to enjoy any other concert as much as I did theirs.

I'm seeing them in a month! (Or was it two...? Either way!) Even happier, it'll be my first concert! And I know Muse does great concerts, so I'm in for the time of my life. ;D

Muse was one of my first favorite bands. They're not one of my favorites at the moment, but I can't deny they're talented - in fact, I think Chris Wolstenholme was one of the reasons I picked up the bass guitar. His bass lines are great... Hysteria is OK, but his other bass riffs are underrated, intensely.

Matthew Bellamy's an incredible musician, in guitar, piano, and vocals. Being a guitarist, I notice that he uses some interesting chords that musicians these days are too scared to use. His piano playing is influenced by my favorite era of classical too, so yay more. And his vocals need no introduction.

One of my first musical obsessions. xD I have Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, and Black Holes and Revelations. I much prefer their older days. Absolution is okay, but Origin of Symmetry is a piece of art.
