In a new article in Newsweek about a new biography on Mr. Schultz, it states that he considered himself just as bland & boring as Charlie Brown.
He took everything as insults & held grudges for a long time and planned a sabotage of a rival's comic strip. He had trouble making friends and was often heckled as a young child.

What do you think?
Was Charles Schultz an Aspie or was he self-pitying himself?

It's never crossed my mind.

In high school, he was constantly ousted by the other students & some teachers because he was a loner and only one teacher championed his talent of drawing.

He used his personal problems as artistic inspiration.

I think he was more an eccentric than ASpie.
He married, only created the one comic strip, made quite the living off licensing, etc...

Here's a question paraphrased from the article:

Why would an evangelical Christian like Schultz cheat on all of his wives?

Feel that Charles Schultz was given a great gift for being a cartoonist. Perhaps he felt embarrassed with such a gift. Schultz had the ability to touch peoples' emotions. I suspect Schultz wondered why his comics were so well received worldwide because he had seen what other cartoonists could do that was good too.

I did not get the feeling that Charles Schultz was self-pitying himself.

I think that Charles Schultz admired the character of Charles Brown who could be taken advantage of yet still walked on oblivious to the many slings and arrows thrust at him.

I heard he was an Aspie. He may not be one but some people consider him one
