for a beginners guitar for metal...

Id recommend Ibanez RG series. Pretty good bang for the buck, but you also have to seriously think about the amp as well, for starters id go with one of the crate practice amps or a line 6. Id eventually save up for a Tube amp, preferably marshall or Berringer (not sure I spelled it right)
