About as low as you can get......

"Your eyes are almost dead
Can't get out of bed
And you can't sleep
You're sitting down to dress
And you're a mess
You look in the mirror
You look in your eyes
Say you realize
Everybody goes
Leaving those who fall behind
Everybody goes
As far as they can,
They don't just care.
They stood on the stairs
Laughing at your errors
Your mother's dead
She said, "Don't be afraid."
Your mother's dead
You're on your own
She's in her bed
Everybody goes
Leaving those who fall behind
Everybody goes
As far as they can
They don't just care
You're a wasted face
You're a sad-eyed lie
You're a holocaust."

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

I recall reading somewhere years ago, I assume it was some sort of poll, but apparently this song is a top song played by surgeons while they perform surgery?

If I was a surgeon, I’d play “You Really Got Me,” by the Kinks.

I remember one of my surgeons arguing with his nurses about which music to play on his IPod as I was anaesthetised.

Imagine reading J. Alfred Prufrock during surgery:

“Etherised upon a table.”

I like Prufrock....

One thing I can say: I prefer Eliot over Ezra Pound.

Two of the groups with the catchiest tunes of the 1960s.
