(You can tell by my avatar.) :)

My favorite book, of course, is "The Golden Compass" because I like what the alethiometer does. But, other than that, I just love everything about this trilogy, especially the ideas of daemons, armored polar bears, challenging authority, and Dust.

Yes, I liked it a lot, the whole arctic feel of it; it's incredibly sad, however, in the end. I didn't like the movie, though.

I thought it had a lot of interesting and creative ideas in it. I just hated Pullman's writing style. Really hated it. I never want to read anything but that man again.

Not a bad series of books actually. -- I like the fact that reason and logic triumph over superstition.

I liked the first book. I can't say that about the last book.

i have a deep appreciation for this series. the concepts, the characters, and the plot are just leagues above most of the writing for this age group. it's not as entertaining as other popular series but i find the execution of this story to be near ideal. that being said, the amber spyglass is probably my least favorite of the trilogy. the ending left me distraught and in desperate need of hugs.

I loved this trilogy. I heard about The Golden Compass from my grandmother who was fed the propaganda that they "kill God" in the movie, so I HAD to read the books. It's truly amazing how people twist things around because their religion got poked. The only thing I didn't like was the gay angels, but whatever. It was a neat idea to throw in there. My favorite quote is what the doctor told Lyra: "Christianity is a very powerful, yet convincing mistake. That's all."

I love these books. I think for this genre they are really well-written and I got very into them, I had to read all three consecutively. I didn't want it to be over haha. I hate the film though.

I remember the books being great but I don't remember much about what happened in them.
