Anyone here good at making music videos?
I have hundreds of original songs. Most have never been recorded at all yet, and the few dozen that have been recorded are amateur recordings, not professional. Still, I wonder if anyone who has an interest in animation or film as their medium would like to collaborate with me on at least one music video? For now I'm thinking of YouTube, but if it's really good maybe mainstream media will pick it up too.
IMPORTANT: anyone who wants to collaborate with me has to recognize that in my current financial state I cannot afford to pay much for their services. Their work will be acknowledged in the credits to the video, and if I ever do get rich and famous they will be compensated fairly. If you are a graphic or video artist trying to make a name for yourself and you do a great job on the video, perhaps it will go viral and we will both become famous?
The song I have in mind is Evolution.
There is a link to a 2008 solo recording of this song just after the title on that lyrics page. We can use that recording or I could re-record it.
Performing this song live on stage, I'd love to have a background chorus line of beautiful girls alternately kicking their legs to the left or to the right when the rhythm plays the triplet between each change. These girls would be human from the neck down, but would have chimpanzee heads (full head masks) or at least chimpanzee face masks. Even if it doesn't happen onstage, it would make a good part of the proposed video. It could be an animated chorus line for the video.
Obvious images for this video would be monkeys, chimps, maybe a picture of Charles Darwin, and with animation Darwin's mouth could change to a smile at one point. Examples of images that would go with the lyrics include scientists arguing over the details (angry guys in lab coats waving their arms or just show their faces yelling at each other), scientists agreeing that it does happen (guys in lab coats smiling arm in arm or shaking hands).
When the second chorus mentions "overwhelming evidence," images of Tiktaalik, Turkana Boy, human chromosome 2, etc. would be useful. I'd like to suggest the fact that there are many different lines of evidence independent of each other yet corroborating each other. There is an extended instrumental break after this chorus in the middle of the song that provides ample time to show many things like this.
When I say "The only problem is your interpretation", perhaps the first part could show a globe, then when I say "your interpretation" the globe changes to a flat earth because if one insists on taking everything the Bible says as literally true, then one has to believe the earth is flat. I have some ideas about images for the video but am open to suggestion. Nothing is carved in stone. it can evolve!

Since I've spent fifty years to get to where my songs are now, I was hoping to find somebody for whom making videos is their passion as writing songs is mine. Somebody who already knows what they're doing, and who enjoys doing that type of stuff.
When I want to make a cake, I count on other people to grow and harvest the wheat, make it into flour, milk the cow and churn the butter, get the eggs from the henhouse, build the oven, the house the oven is in, the powerplant to power that oven, the roads leading to the house, etc. I don't try to learn how to do all these things by myself first because I don't have enough time, enough interest, enough relevant skills or abilities, or the necessary equipment but also because I don't have to and I shouldn't have to.
I do my part by writing the songs, playing the guitar parts and singing the vocals. Isn't that enough? My lyrics and music are at least as good as most of the stuff you hear on the radio. The sound quality of the mp3s of my songs could be improved by being recorded by somebody who knows what they're doing and has professional equipment. I'm doing what I can to share what talents I have with the world and to express myself.
Does anyone in this forum already have some familiarity with flash or other technology or techniques for making videos? Evolution isn't the only possible song of mine that would make a great video. Imagine the possibilities for Spank the Naughty Blonde for example. Most of my songs have never been recorded yet, including some of my best. I list the spanking song partly as a joke (although it does rock). I have written songs on many subjects including serious ones such as the meaning of words, death of one's parents, the Red Baron, and more. I have fun songs and joke songs too, including parodies of some famous songs by other artists.
