Or, if you're like me, how does your mood affect music?
I used to think music changed my mood depending on the song, but now i've realised music sounds different to me depending on how i feel.
Before, most of my music made me feel better about myself, then when i started going out with my girlfriend it seemed to all describe how i felt about life. But now, i've just been dumped ("i think we're better as friends" yeah right) it seems to inspire a certian hate towards various people.

Just an observation, thats all...

Songs don't ever change in meaning for me, but the degree of thier impact depends on my mood.

For example:
"Ain't No Sunshine" is a fun karaoke song when I'm happy, but depressing when I'm not.
Metallica sounds great when I'm full of energy, but annoying when I'm tired and relaxed. Opposite for Pink Floyd

I listen to a lot of movie music and trailer music. Usually, the stuff that sounds epic. That kind of music does elicit a certain mood in me and can cause me to get very excited. I'm not sure if my mood ever changes the music.

Depends on the music and how life is going. The first day I had "Youthanasia" by Megadeth I wanted to kill myself just because I listened to "A Tout Le Monde". The first week after me and my girlfriend broke up it pained me to hear anything by Saving Abel. I'm back with her but very few songs make me feel anything towards her. Listening to my favorite country songs cheers me up like nothing else. I also used to not even be able to think about the song "Cry" by Mandy Moore without crying, now I'm just comfortably numb to the song.

The guitar solo from comfortably numb (floyd) makes me feel mellow if im sad or depressed if im happy.
