Since I was 9 years old, I liked this group with all the cool sounding songs, who also recorded songs about London and England. A few years later, I was able to put a name to this group. The name of the first rock band to grab my attention is The Kinks. I like most of the older songs that they recorded between 1964 and 1984. There's something that goes with those two decades. Mick Avory drummed for The Kinks, over that 20 year span. He's always been my favourite Kink. If somebody would have asked me who my favourite Kink was, when I was just getting into rock n roll, I would have said, "The big, sensitive one with the brown eyes." because I didn't know their names between the ages 9 and 12. I've also gone through life being the big, sensitive one with the brown eyes. That's why I look up to Mick, so much.

I love your devotion to The Kinks and to Mick Avory in particular. I'm not a fan myself, barely know them to be honest. It's one of those bands I've always heard about but haven't listened to carefully yet. One day I will, though.

They are not displeasing to the ears, but I don't actively seek out to listen to them.

I can't listen to the Kinks on the radio the same way again after joining this site.
